Item distribution robot
about.
This project focused on developing a mechatronic bean dispensing machine designed to autonomously collect a specified amount of beans from designated silos and deliver them to a container. The system uses an Arduino Mega to control the components, including DC and servo motors, ultrasonic sensors, a color sensor, and a weight sensor. I managed the electrical design, integrating a custom Printed Circuit Board (PCB) with relays and MOSFETs to effectively drive the system's actuators and sensors. My contributions also extended to the mechanical domain, where I was responsible for the 3D CAD modeling of critical components such as the scoop and the dispensing bin, ensuring seamless integration between the custom electrical logic and the physical mechanisms. The final prototype demonstrated the successful fusion of these elements, delivering a robust automated solution. Out of around 50 teams, our team earned 4th place.
